4-H is all about helping young people discover their potential and grow into competent, contributing, and caring citizens. Learn-by-doing activities, youth-adult partnerships, and research-based educational programs help kids enhance their leadership abilities and develop a wide range of life skills.
Enrollment time in most clubs is July - October. Contact the 4-H office at (650) 726-9059 x 106 for more information about the clubs in your community.
How Old Do I Have to Be to Join?
You must be at least 5 years old or in Kindergarten by January 1st of each program year and no older than 19 by December 31st.
Can My Parent/Guardian Be Involved?
Yes. The San Mateo/San Francisco County 4-H Program needs adult volunteers to share skills with the youth in the program. University of California policy requires that adults pass a background screening check and attend an orientation before they can work with youth. If adults are interested in volunteering, contact the 4-H office to learn more.
